Edit the local ORACLE.INI file on each PC and add a line USERNAME=fred or whatever to the bottom of the first section. From SQL*Plus you will get the machine name as part of the information. <<<<<

Username corresponds with the OS Username, not really "machine". I guess for PCs they usually are equivalent... It would be nice to set both the user and host names.
