Don't you mean that you supported 10% MORE users using MTS ?

Our brief testing showed that we could support many more MTS connections than dedicated connections purely based on the lesser memory usage on the server when using MTS.

You do need to expand the size of the SGA considerably to handle MTS, since the connection memory is now housed in the SGA rather than the general system memory.

But, we found that the performance difference between MTS and dedicated connections made MTS unacceptable. It was easier for us to spend a bit more money on memory for the server.

My 2 cents worth.
