Right, you don't need anything special on the server side for ODBC and SQL*Net to work. Your client application talks to the ODBC driver, which talks to SQL*Net client, which talks to your client's transport protocol, ...
As far as your server is concerned, it's communicating with your client just via SQL*Net.
