I have a similar situation, and it's hard to believe that there's no provision for going from one version of Oracle and SunOS to the next version of Oracle and Solaris; you'd think that this is a common upgrade.
We're going from 7.0.15 on SunOS to 7.1.4 on Solaris on a different machine. The manual basically says "you can't get there from here"!
I'm real close to dumping my entire database to ASCII for the transfer. Anybody got a better plan -- one that's already worked?
