        both platforms are very good but take the following into mind.

NOVELL:

1. Can buy a cheaper Workgroup/2000 server product with average database administration tools under microsoft windows.
2. Administrating the database is simple as long as the installation goes correctly.

HP9000

1. very powerful platform if you want to do 20 plus concurrent users.
2. The database and tool will cost more becuase of the UNIX environment.
