Had ongoing connect problems with Designer 5.1.7 to remote database. Switch to Case Designer 2000 & you won't have to mess with os2 anymore. Our problems are with network traffic and how OS2 tcp/ip handles delays. Windows is far more stable than os2, face it and switch unless you want ongoing unsolvable maintenance problems.
