I suggest that you use two small DCL programs for this.
Put the RPT/RPF into one and put your 'type' into a program that calls an
editor (edt if you must but TPU is cleaner) that takes the report you've just
produced as a parameter. Even if the 'type' worked it probably wouldn't
be very usable as it would scroll off the screen very fast before you could
take it in. An idea would be to ask after the report was produced if
you wanted to browse the report or not.
TPU is the better choice for the editor as you can easily make the report
read-only ; if you want more info on *that* then the VMS newsgroup is the
best place to ask.
