Our current system (7.0.16 on Solaris 2.3) uses triggers to mirror the database to a backup machine. This works, but is a bit slow. I've been told it's possible to mirror the system by using the archived redo logs from the primary computer to on the backup one. Does anyone have any info (setup, reliability, performance, etc.) on this? Oracle are supposed to have a white paper on this, but I've been unable (so far) to get it from them.

Please mail replies, and I'll post a summary.

Thanks,
  Neil
