log history entries; invalid tablespaces

Two questions:
What is the init.ora parameter for limiting the number of entries in v$loghist? (or is there one)
Has anyone found a method for deleting tablespace entries that have a status of 'INVALID' in dba_tablespaces. Whenever a tablespace is dropped the only change that happens is that its status becomes "INVALID' . The data for the tablespace lingers forever.
