Hello all,
I am running the following configuration and would like to inquire
out there advice on

		"background timeouts"

I have
		Digital UNIX v3.2
		ORACLE V7.1.4
		PeopleSoft Payroll application

My estat reports generate 25K of background timeouts a day.

What do these mean?  Should I be alarmed? Do they impact performance?
How can I reduce them?  Thank you to all out there!! (I have looked
all over the documentation).
