QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS): I'm looking for dynamic individuals that possess enthusiasm, drive and the desire to succeed in one of the most challenging environments in the industry. As a team member of the Production Database Administration group you'll be an integral part of maintaining the Corporation's business critical production databases. You will be involved in implementing 'bleeding edge' technology while maintaining good service levels to our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation/maintenance/integrating of relevant software
- Performance tuning
- Database maintenance (ie. space management, layout etc)
- Capacity planning
- Be part of a 7x24 beeper/hot-line support rotation
- Effective responsiveness/communication with users
- Working closely with development, porting and worldwide support for prompt problem resolution
- Coordinate application/database migration projects
- Communicate effectively with higher management
- Work closely with IES and Unix system staff members
- Document projects/procedures
- Enforce security
- Monitor/review database backups
