        No it isn't a 'moot question' !         

	I believe he means tables from multiple applications.  
	They could, for instance be segregated by owner (aka schema) 
	and/or tablespace.

	An advantage -could- be a single TEMPORARY tablespace, 
	instead of a separate one in each instance.  Also, if
	people tend to use more than 1 application, they would
	have to keep changing SIDs to go from 1 to the other.
	Having one instance could be more convenient.

	However, I agree that 'single point of failure' disadvantage 
	probably outweighs most advantages to collecting everything 
	together.

	Unless memory and/or storage are a -serious- problem.
