platforms/hardware for web oracle project

I am looking into using either Oracle or Sybase for a number of web development projects. Could anyone with experience using oracle as a backend for Netscape, etc send me info on what platform they run it on and the hardware they use. Any comments on your experiences using Oracle on the web would also be helpful. If there is sufficient response, I will post a summary to this group. Thanks.
