Should I go for it?

I am a WINDOWS programmer using C and CodeBase for xBase table manipulation. I have been assigned with the task by my company to evaluate Personal Oracle 7. The bottom line is that they want us to become more efficient in bringing applications to market.

I would appreciate any comments as to the merit of Rapid Application Development with Oracle.

What is the learning curve for a seasoned programmer?

Does development in Oracle require object orientation?

Please comment in the advantages and disadvantages of undertaking such a task. Are we better off if we move to C++ instead and use third party tools to perform our database development?

I would appreciate any responses, from the most frustrated to the most delighted :)
