Max number of Tables ?

There is a long discussion in the newsgroup about the maximum nuber of columns for an ORACLE table (254). I was wondering:

What is maximum number of tables that can be stored in a database (tablespace area) ?

Is this tied to any ORACLE parameters ?

Our requirements will be store up to 5000 messages which will each contain a tag number. In addition, we will be storing numrical data and templates for each message.

Could each message be a table with a tag as a key ?
