table replication

Hello,

        I am member of a group choosing database for a major project with customer locations in various European towns. These will be connected using some kind of dedicated WAN.

        One of the databases considered, Sybase, has a thing called replication server that could be used in our project. My question is: does anyone have a hands-on experience of using Sybase replication server and/or Oracle 7 snapshots; preferably over wide area networks. Any comments on strong/weak points? Or should we use some better method?

        All help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
