Losing Rollback space 7.0.15 ATT UNIX

We seem to be losing space in rollback segments. It seems to be
related to update processes aborting. We are V7.0.15 running on
NCR 3555 UNIX System V V4.3.
Application vendor says this is a known ORACLE 'feature' -
anyway else seen it?
