Very easily done. Netware clients (Dos, windows, macs) can run a tcpip stack (Novell's works fine). Then you can install SQL*NET for TCP/IP on the client and use any Oracle or 3rd party tool to get data from the server. Forms, reports, dba tools, etc are all available on windows (dos and mac are supported too).

The TCP/IP stack from novell is now included free of charge with Novell's VLM client kit. This kit is the preffered method for connecting to Netware servers. It is available for $99 US for a "site" license, meaning you can give it to anyone who will be connecting to your server.

As for using unixes talking spx, Novell sells Unixware (SVR4) that can talk spx. Oracle also sells an Oracle7 server that runs on Unixware. Thus, Oracle on Unixware can talk spx eliminating the need for tcp stacks on client machines.

One note for anyone considering Oracle and Unixware: Oracle and Novell are bundling their products and calling it Oracleware. You get Unixware and Oracle in one box. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Instead, buy a copy of Unixware and Oracle separately. Support and upgrade policies for "Oracleware" suck! But the policies for Oracle on Unixware are the same as any other platform.
