Oracle 7.1.4 SunOS Server Manager core dumps

I have just installed Oracle 7.1.4 on a Sparc 10 running SunOS 4.1.3. I am trying to use the new motif-based server manager svrmgrm. Most of the functions work, except that the functions that try to create something, i.e. "New worksheet" and "create tablespace" cause svrgrm to core dump.

Can anyone explain why this problem occurs, and if there is any way to fix it?
