DB Engineer/DBA

TransQuest Technologies is looking for a Database Engineer/DBA that can be responsible for designing and maintaining product database functionally, and who can monitor database performance, configuration and resource usage in a client/server environment.

The qualified candidates must have at least:

• 3 years experience as an Oracle, Informix, or Sybase DBA
• 2 years UNIX systems experience
• 2 years experience developing UNIX-based applications
• 2 years C programming
• 1 year shell script programming

In this position you will develop programs to proactively analyze and manage database problems. The database subsystem requires coding SQL, C, shell script and SNMP agents based on the product architecture. Knowledge of database performance/tuning and administration is required. Database internals knowledge is preferred.

Salary is negotiable.
