ProC: symbolic constants in the declare section?

We have the following problem:
#define ARR_LEN 4
EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION;
static char test_arr[ARR_LEN];
EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION;
29 static char test_arr[ARR_LEN];
PCC-S-0018: Expected "<unsigned_integer>", but found "ARR_LEN" at line
29 in file test.pc
29 .........................^
Is there a way around this?
(In case it matters: Pro*C 1.5)
