HOST call to execute shell

I'm having trouble using HOST call from a FORMS procedure to
execute a shell script in order to launch reports. ( runrep )
The HOST call just does not return back to the form.
ex: HOST ('Adjust_Inventory.sh', 'NO_SCREEN');
This works fine in an AIX environment but NOT a UNIX/NCR 3500
platform.
I'm using V7.1.4 and UNIX V release 4 version 3 and SQLFORMS3
Thanks for any input on the subject. ( Critical by Monday 1/9)
