Hi netters,
I need to upgrade Oracle 7.0.12.2.0 on SunOS 4.1.3 to Oracle 7.1.3 on Solaris 2.3 (that's the only set of CD I got from Oracle). I need to ask a few questions:
- Is it a "must" to upgrade 7.0 to 7.1 on SunOS first then from SunOS to Solaris? Does it work if I install a new 7.1 on Solaris, export db on 7.0 and import back on 7.1?
- Can my 7.1 server running on Solaris while my client remain on SunOS? If yes, what should I do? Can my clients still using the set of tools (e.g. sqlplus) running on 7.0?
Either email or post news are welcome.
