There is one problem with this solution though.
Once you have implemented your applications this way, it will be very
costly to move to another DBMS vendor, because they only work
with Oracle databases as far as I know.
Most SQL front-ends from third-party vendors support multiple
DBMS backends.
Then answer to the original question is of course: DB2 for OS/2 or DB2/6000.
