Exactly - it doesn't make sense.
And for those of us that have spent $40,000 on non-Windows platforms?
For our production environment, we'd never consider deploying under Windows. Sure there are certain apps that lend themselves to Windows, but X is the only way to go in a control room which has a couple of dozen displays running.
I can't imagine regressing to developing on a PC again.
