Hi everyone. I'm posting this for a co-worker who doesn't have an internet connection.

Please reply via e-mail to me (larocque_at_hookup.net) and I'll forward the messages to

Thanks.

We are currently running Oracle forms version 4.0.12.4.1 on a vax running vms 5.5-2 and oracle server 7.0.15.4.1.

We are trying to import into a database several TIFF files with a stipulation that the import must be handled by a C program. Since the image must be stored in
"Oracle Format" in the DB, I can see the need to write a forms application that uses
the READ_IMAGE_FILE builtin to get the tiff file into a forms image in the proper
format. I believe that I can use forms "user exit" to pass a parameter of the "VMS Tiff
file name" to the forms application, however I am unclear on how to pass this parameter, as well as how to pass the "Oracle formatted image" back to the C program. Additionally, I am looking for some info on how to invoke (call) the forms
application from within a C program.

Any help/direction or even alternate methods of achieving this task would be greatly appreciated.
