The last time I looked at Oracle Client Tools for Mac (at my last job), the OCI package didn't support async calls from Mac applications. The net result was that "exec"ing complex queries prevented the user from switching applications, etc.
What is the latest version of OCI on the Mac?
Does is support async calls?
Does anyone have any clever ideas on how to make do without async?
How do products like Omnis 7 deal with this?
