I need a database that will do the following:
- Must run on Sun/Sparc under a Motif environment.
- It must have an API that will allow me to interface my C
promgrams with my database
- some libraries, drivers, etc.
- maybe a precompiler or perhaps ODBC?
- keep in mind that whatever the API be, it would be nice if we didn't have recode our C prgrams if at some later date we wish to use a different database. However, THIS IS NOT A MUST!
- Must have a data browser.
- Some sort of user graphical interface that allows me to manipulate the data via keyboard/mouse.
- I don't want to have to write a C program everytime I want to add, remove, sort, etc. data from the database.
- It will be run by a single CPU but multiple users (2-3 X-terms) will be accessing the database at a time.
- Price. Although price is not really a factor.
- Misc. (None of these things are needed but are of interest)
- Any specs. on speed.
- Any specs. on sized (is it a memory hog?)
- Can it plot data?
Thanks.
