I'm writing a summary of cross-platform client-builder tools for publication on the Usenet, and I want to cover Oracle Forms. I have the Oracle CDE Technical Overview, which is detailed, but it doesn't quite frame its description of OF in the terms I'm used to from other vendors' product lit.

A few questions:
  What is a form?
  What is a block?
  What is a canvas? A canvas-view?
How do these things relate to GUI objects such as windows, scrolling    lists, text fields, etc.?
How does OF compare with other popular client-builders (SQLWindows,    PowerBuilder, Uniface, etc.)?

Please email me a copy of your reply. My summary will appear in this group when I publish it. Thanx in advance!
