I have written for use with Mosaic forms, a great front end to Oracle 7 databases. This product is written in HTML format using oraperl. It allows a user to access any (remote or local) Oracle 7 database. It allows a user

1. to build SQL queries on one or more objects
2. describe objects available to the user
3. perform ad-hoc queries
4. execute predefined queries - these queries have been built and saved by

the user using this tool. The queries are saved on the server.

This software allows a user to build easy to somewhat complex queries containing (but not limited to)

  1. where clauses
  2. group by clauses
  3. having clauses
  4. joins
  5. order by clauses on one or more tables.

I have not added "embedded selects", "union", "union all", "intersect", and "minus" to date. These are features that will be coming.

We use this product within our group and will be expanding to other groups on site.

The limitation is that it has to be used on a box that has X capability. We currently have it running on SUN boxes and on Macs that have Mac X installed. The Mac Mosaic forms browser chokes on this software.

Our site is not on the open internet.

If you are interested, either send me mail or give me a call.

Thanks,
Debi Henkel
