I just completed an Oracle 7 install on an RS/6000 Model 370. I have very little database experience but have been integrating products for a few years now. Oracle still needs to improve its installation process as do many other vendors including Novell, IBM, and SAP (I must give a slight edge to Microsoft, for now). Its obvious that Oracle's going in assumption is that installers are Oracle trained and preferably their own consultants. Oracle installations are clearly not for the weak hearted nor is RS/6000, SAP, or Netware 4.0 installations, if you've done them recently. This is a major problem in the industry for companies that can not afford or do not want to hire Oracle experts. When there is weakness, there is opportunity.
