Well, this isn't exactly an Oracle issue, but...

I've observed an intermittent (three times in two months) performance problem with SCO UNIX on a Pentium 66 (a Deskpro XL 566). To document it, I wrote a shell script that counts to 10000. Normally, it takes about 21.1 cpu sec, but during the problem it takes about 215.1 cpu sec. If I do a warm reboot, the problem persists, but if I do a cold reboot it goes away. (I've run diagnostics and sar, the machine has plenty of memory and disk, and I'm the only user.)
