Good luck. I can spend 30 seconds to whip out a sql statement that will "work" (and spend huge amounts of cpu time and disk accesses to ge the data), or I can spend a couple of hours fine-tuning the approach (as you always should), and get a production script that'll run in a couple of seconds.
