A colleague of mine is about to embark on a project creating a database solution for a specialist music picture library. The libary has examined existing packages and decided all are unsatisfactory. The library expectes to have a small network of perhaps four computers.
The colleague asks for help in deciding which would be the best platform for the library to run Oracle forms 4 (MAC or IBM compatible PC) and what server / network (for Oracle and SQL*Net) to use.
Has anybody created a similar sounding solution, what are the pitfalls, are MAC's good with forms 4, what is the cheapest solution any help would be much appreciated.
