Also note that on some platforms, there is an executable oraterm20 that will allow you to edit the resource file. If you have it available, use that instead of resparse and resprint. Unfortunately the documentation for oraterm20 is not shipped with the rdbms so you'll have to order it from Oracle.

It also depends on what product you are trying to use the resource file with, some products are built to recognize only certain terminal names, so if you add new ones it may not be recognized. I experienced this peculiarity when trying to modify the resource file for Oracle OFFICE. Moreover, watch out for global definitions, those take precedence over your product definitions, and make sure that you don't have any conflicts between the global definitions and the product definitions.

One more thing to remember is to compile all the product to terminal definition combinations that are present in the resource file.
