While I fully agree with the above and the conclutions drawn, It should be noted that use_async_io is not documented under AIX 7.0.16 but is recommened for use by the port manager.

Further, the _corrupted_rollback_segments option has been the difference for me in salvaging or not salvaging a DB.

And their aren't many of use who dont have little piece of paper with all the events that they have set in the past.

Therefor, all undocumented parameters are not created equal and _allow_resetlogs_corruption does NOT = _db_block_compute_checksums

I think better advice would be: Use the brain you were born with. Be very careful. And don't whine to us or Oracle when you toast your database.
