NEW way to asynchronously connect to Oracle

I have succeeded in setting up an async connection from windows for workgroups (or just plain windows) via sqlnet to an Oracle database. The secret is to use a Shiva Netmodem. It provides ipx (or tcp) over a dialup line. You can run any windows product that uses sqlnet to connect to Oracle. I have tested out q+e and lotus v4 connections to Oracle and they work just as if I had an ethernet cable attached to my pc. No special configurations. Sqlnet spx (or tcp) is needed. The shiva box sits directly on the ethernet. This is just a client/server implementation where my pc is the client running windows and is attached directly to the Oracle engine.

I find this the best solution for remote connections.
