Need DB redesign/reengineering references

We've got an Oracle 6 database with about 80 tables that is
(surprise!) not rigorously documented, the designers are
(naturally) long gone, and has had many ad hoc changes and
additions made (of course) over the last two years. Now
my job is to reverse-engineer the database and redesign it
for Oracle 7 and a client-server environment, making sure
everything is normalized and referential integrity is
maintained.
I would appreciate any pointers to books, articles, white papers, etc. that would help with a methodology for or general approach (or even tips and pointers) to this task.
Many Thanks in advance, he said optimistically
