Error when drop tablespace

  I am now using Oracle v6.x and running AIX version 3   The situation is : I need to defrag the database, so I perform export then import to achieve it. But after I had successfully exported the database, I tried to drop the tablespace by command :

  drop tablespace <tablespace_name> including contents;

but errors occurred :

  ORA-00604 : error occurred at recursive SQL level 1   ORA-00058 : timeout occurred while waiting for DDL lock

and tablespace remain exists.

  Could any one tell me what's wrong with it?
