This is interesting to me as well. I ordered WfW and the Windows Printing System over the weekend to install on my NCR3333 workstation.

I'm currently running AT&T StarGROUP OSI & WRQ Reflections Network Series TCP/IP with Lan Manager 2.1a enhanced. We're currently running TCP/IP V1 SQL*Net (SQL*Net TCP/IP 1.1 for Windows on the clients, orasrv SQLNet 1.1 on the server) and have had pretty good results. Many workstations are still using NetBIOS AT&T StarGROUP OSI SQL*Net and they're trouble free once properly configured.

However, StarGROUP OSI will be going away in 7.1; we've been beta testing 7.1 primarily for read-only tablespace on optical storage. When I put 7.1 into production I'll be faced either with convincing our computer administration group to go to StarPRO OSI, which will involve lots of changes to our whole network (30 servers, 400+ workstations), or running a dual protocol stack with somebody's TCP/IP.

The computer support folks favor the Wollangong PATHWAYS Access package for TCP/IP; I really like WRQ RNS (the terminal software is terrific for use in Oracle DBA and installation work.)

32-bit TCP/IP protocol services sound pretty sexy realizing the amount of client/server work we do; I'll be interested to see if I can get WfW working with SQL*Net.
