Installing Oracle 7.0.16 for the first time

  1. Please do not forget to read the README file. It usually contains very important information about the particular version and patches that you would not find in any other documentation.
  2. The documentation that you want to refer to is the Installation & Configuration which I trust you already have in your possession.
  3. If you get a chance read up on setting up an OFA compliant database which would allow you to arrange your data files in a standard manner.
  4. The install is fairly easy and you are pretty much guided through it with the menus.
