I know for certain that you need the make utility from /usr/ccs/bin (which is one of the C compiler libraries). Most of the Oracle installation scripts use it at one point or another. My last install was with Solaris 5.3 and Oracle 7.0.16.4. However, you also need the Oracle Patch 6 CD to upgrade it to 7.0.16.6. Also, there is a special patch which Oracle is distributing (although not always automatically) to prevent system panics.  You will also need to ensure that your operating system has had its patches applied to prevent these panics.
