You might want to check out EcoTools from Compuware. This product is a systems management product that monitors the network, computer, and databases (oracle and sybase). To really get a picture of whats going on in your system, you really need to monitor all three. The product has over 250 agents out of the box (unlike Patrol's where you have to write them using their own script language), most are C programs. EcoTools uses RPC calls and is exception based (only report when theres a problem). The product features include Event Management (dump space full), Automated Operations (event occurs - correct it automatically), Performance Monitoring, Console Management, Capacity Planning, Security Monitoring, and Configuration Management. One nice feature is the real time process monitor allows you to drilldown on an Oracle user and see the actual SQL statement he is executing.

You can get information about the product by calling Compuware at 1-800-535-8707.
