: Hi there,

: I have the following problem:

: Someone sent to me two ORACLE .dmp files. These files were created during
: an export of an ORACLE V6.0.34.2.1 database on a HP9000/832 running
: HP-UX rev 9.0.

: Now I want to import these two files on a ORACLE V7.0 database.

: But now, when I start the import, the following message appeares:

: ORA-02226:invalid MAXEXTENTs value (max allowed 121)

: (from what I saw in the .dmp files, this value is 999 ).

According to the trainer on my Oracle 6 -> 7 Conversion course last week, whilst '121' is the actual maximum, Oracle V6 will accept (but ignore (?)) '999' - Oracle 7 is less forgiving - it knows the maximum is 121 and so won't let you have a param value greater than '121'.

So all of you out there about to convert to Oracle 7 with create tablespace scripts containing values of '999' had better get editting! :-) :-) :-)
