The concurrent manager is a set of processes which run continously in the background. The manager is responsible for running queued concurrent programs.
These programs (or jobs) are application functions which require a certain amount of time to be processed and are therefore batched and run in the background in order to free the on-line user's terminal.

The concurrent manager is documented (from a developer's point of view) in the _Application Object Library reference manual_. There is a complete chapter on the subject, i.e. how to define concurrent manager parameters, how to register new jobs which are to be run by the manager and how to submit jobs for execution.

If you are more on the user's side, an excellent reference would be the new _Application user's guide_ now available with release 10. This shows how a typical application end-user can interact and use the manager.

I hope this information is usefull to you. If you need more information on the subject, don't hesitate to contact me via email.
