Environment:
Sun OS 4.1.3/Motif 1, Oracle 7.0.16.4.0, Forms 4.0.12.1.1 Forms Generator 4.0.12.4.1 (Production)

After executing f40genm to upgrade a menu to forms 4, I am amazed to find :

SQL*Menu 5 required 285184 bytes to store menu .dmm, 712K to maintain Forms 4 requires 926956 bytes to store menu .fmx, 22Mb to maintain

The 22 Mb is the peak resident set required during load of the Forms4 menu module. After load the stack + data requirements are 18060K bytes. The module is saved in the database.

As a result our unix box ran out os swap space and oracle instance crashed due to lack of memory. )-

Under Windows CDE the menu module takes 2Mb to load into Forms4 designer from database.

Any suggestions welcome.
