SQL consultant wanted

A large manufacturing company that uses extensive automated manufacturing process and quality controls is seeking consultants and/or software engineering firms experienced in converting massive RDMBS systems from INGRES to an SQL system such as Oracle or Sybase. The data involved is heavily numeric and represents quality control and manufacturing process information used to monitor large-scale real-time high-speed manufacturing processes. The conversion process will include a new forms manager, database engine, and 4GL. Extent of experience in this kind of conversion is more important than industry-specific experience. The key criterion for evaluating possible target systems would be cost, functionality, and above all service and support. Conversions will be carried out at several manufacturing sites in North America, and will involve working very closely with the company's automated process control engineering staff. The systems in question run on DEC VAX hardware.
