If anyone has experience with replicating a complete db
instance with archive logs to maintain a mirror on another
node I would should love to hear experiences/difficulties/
problems that you may have encountered. We are beginning an
alternatives analysis for backup/restore/recovery procedures
for a very large oracle database. What we would like to do
is keep a mirror copy of the database updated by ftp'ing the
oracle control files, archive log files, etc and applying them
to a mirror database on a fairly frequent time interval.
Is anyone currently doing such a senerio in a production environment ?
