Hi,

thanks for taking time to read this message, it is already much appreciated!

I am currently trying to produce a benchmark that aims to prove that Oracle 7 running on a Sun mini computer (UNIX) can satisfactorily handle our project's expected load. I need to simulate a large number of concurrent users (About 300), which are meant to be using Forms 4 and PLL/SQL, using the Client/Server model.

I intend to distribute a number of processes (Each simulating a user) which send of random queries to the Oracle server, (Of varying complexity) and then record the time taken and other performance stats.

Does anyone know what an overhead the use of Forms 4 entails, and how this could be best modelled?
Similarly does any one know the overhead involoved in using the X21 protocol for address generation at the Oracel server machine?

Any other ideas or suggestions to help do this will be greatly appreciated.
