I have had experience with ingres for unix. I am looking for a similar database FOR DOS or MICROSOFT WINDOWS that will allow me to use the familiar and standard SQL commands. I want to be able to unitilize and store information in the database, and be able to access this with standard c or c++ code using a borland 4.0 compiler (windows). If you know of any such databases that are similar to ingres and can use the sql command set and can be linked with a c or c++ compiler then please relate this information to me. I would REALLY appreciate it. I am not quite familiar with the topic of this newsgroup, but I am looking for the above. I am with a university, and if you have any ftp sites that carry this type of shareware or so software, then please give me the ftp address. If you know of any commercial packages then I am all ears also.

Q: ** Is there such a thing as INGRES for DOS environments? **

Thank you for your time. Please mail me and reach me at:
